Know Sugar Bowl

Do you wish to know which slope to go to? Which one to avoid? Which "secret" runs are the patrollers' favorites? Go no further!

Q: Where's the Sugar Bowl resort web page?
A: Visit http://www.sugarbowl.com

Q: What are the boundaries and why should I avoid crossing them?
A: When you go past the big yellow boundary signs, you assume all risks. The Sugar Bowl Ski Patrol does not conduct any avalanche control or even patrol this territory. Also, you should be aware that, once you go toward out of bounds area, you will not encounter any chairlifts or other exits such as roads or other ski resorts. The only exit is through Sugar Bowl. If you don't go back to a groomed slope on time, the only way out will be for you to climb back up.

Q: Is there any risk of avalanche out of bounds?
A: The Sugar Bowl Ski Patrol does not conduct any avalanche control out of bounds and does not comment about the risk associated with skiing in these terrains. You will need to get in touch with the U.S. Forest Service to obtain that information. You can either visit their web page http://www.r5.fs.fed.us/tahoe/avalanche/currentwarning.htm or call them at (530) 587-2158.

Q: I did not find the answer to the question I had
A: Send us an email at ! We will make sure to answer you promptly, and maybe add your question to this page.
